A key role in life is to persuade others to understand your viewpoint and agree with you, whether you are selling a product, an idea or a specific point of view. Knowing how to convince people of your perspective is a significant skill. A persuasive presentation should be emotional in its delivery, which serves to convince an audience that your information is accurate and you care about them. Speakers must demonstrate a level of genuine enthusiasm to engage their listeners, making their speech credible.
With this in mind, students from II baccalaureate participated in our Internal Persuasive Speech Contest on August 7th. The two topics selected by the students this year were:
· Mainstream vs. Alternative Media – the fake ¨news¨ debate
· Space Exploration: a waste of money or a beneficial investment for mankind?
After listening to very interesting perspectives on these topics, Fabiana Ortiz Larrea was declared the winner this year. She will represent the school in the Interscholastic Persuasive Speech Contest organized by UESS on the month of October.
